SEESA Pretoria Roof Slab Waterproofing

For the renowned SEESA facility located in Meyers Park, Pretoria, EcoSeal was entrusted with a pivotal project that epitomised our proficiency in addressing intricate waterproofing challenges.

Roof Slab Maintenance & Waterproofing Diagnosis: On our preliminary inspection, it was evident that the building’s existing waterproofing system was compromised. We observed delamination and cracking in several areas, and the waterproofing was particularly deteriorated at joints, showing signs of separation. One of the pressing concerns was the inadequate drainage system; outlets were positioned too high, resulting in water stagnation and puddling, which exacerbated the waterproofing issues. Additionally, the waterproofing layer had lost its UV protection, and there were noticeable cracks on the parapet wall.

Remedial Action: With a comprehensive understanding of the problems at hand, our team swung into action. Firstly, we rectified the drainage problem by opening and repositioning the outlets to facilitate proper water flow. The compromised areas, including cracks and delaminated joints, were fortified using the StretchSeal membrane system, ensuring these vulnerabilities were addressed. For the mainstay of the project, we implemented the ArmTec Hyperflex waterproofing system. Designed for optimal performance, this system was employed to renew and comprehensively waterproof the roof slab, thereby restoring its integrity and ensuring long-term durability.

The SEESA project stands as an embodiment of EcoSeal’s dedication to rejuvenating structures with meticulous care, cutting-edge solutions, and a commitment to delivering unmatched quality.
