Exposed to extreme climate changes the roof of a house expands and contracts which results in faded colour, loose tiles, and loose cement on ridges caps.
Annual inspection and regular maintenance makes sense and can help prevent spending a lot of money on future repairs and a roof that is kept in good conditions means that your home is protected from elements.
ECO Seals' contractors are roof painting specialists using only proven roof coating system. The roof coating system can be applied to:
- Clay tiles
- Cement tiles
- Galvanised Sheeting
- IBR Sheeting
As with any redecorating the preparation of the roof is of utmost importance. Roofs need to be cleaned thoroughly with high-pressure cleaner before re-coating. On rough tiles roofs, the paint goes on a lot thicker when applied by hand than when sprayed as much of the paint is trapped between the rough particles on the tile. For these reasons, spraying can be done a lot more (economically) to avoid wastage.
New un-coated galvanized roofs should be de-greased thoroughly or left at least six months for the weather to remove the greasiness before painting the first time, as the paint will simply not stick on new galvanized sheeting because of the thin coating of grease that is covered on at the factory.
It is not advisable to tint normal paint and use it as roof paint, as roofs take direct sunlight most of the time and therefore are prone to fading if proper UV resistant product is not used. As roof paint is made to withstand the severe sun and weather conditions, it is normally a high-quality paint and can be used for several other purposes, like painting steel fencing and balustrades where it can outperform a more expensive alkyd enamel coating.
