Robust Roof Slab Waterproofing & Upgrade for McDonald’s, Silverlakes

EcoSeal was recently at the forefront of the refurbishment efforts at the Silverlakes outlet of McDonald’s. As part of the larger revamp, our specific mission was to upgrade the waterproofing of their lightweight roof slab, especially with anticipation of significant foot traffic in the services area. Our client’s core need was to install a waterproofing system robust enough to seamlessly replace and renew the pre-existing torchon system.

Our procedure commenced with a comprehensive clearing of all the roof’s equipment and services, ensuring an unimpeded workspace. The roof was then thoroughly washed and degreased, preparing it for the advanced waterproofing procedures that lay ahead. Implementing the superior ArmTec HyperFlex system, we bolstered key structural points such as corners, turnups, joints, and stairs with the highly effective StretchSeal Membrane. Recognising the intensive use the service area would undergo, we fortified the newly waterproofed roof with a cementitious waterproofing top coat, which was then sealed with a durable polyurethane layer. The end result? A hard-wearing roof, ready to withstand the demands of its vibrant service environment.
