Revitalising Wichita Flats Roof Slabs: Comprehensive Waterproofing Solutions

Situated in Sunnyside, Wichita Flats posed a significant waterproofing challenge. Age and wear had rendered the torchon waterproofing ineffective; evident from the cracked membrane, separated joints, and leaky outlets. Added to this, sections of the slab that were previously opened for repairs were left exposed and unsealed, and the platforms of the water storage tanks were in a state of disrepair.

EcoSeal stepped up to this challenge with a systematic plan. Firstly, the water storage tanks were emptied and the platforms were repaired to ensure they could hold the tanks securely post-waterproofing. Damaged sections on the slab were meticulously fixed, filled, and prepped for the new waterproofing layer. Leaky outlets were addressed, and the deteriorating torchon membrane was skillfully removed, setting the stage for the superior ArmTec waterproofing system. Our choice of the ArmTec HyperFlex waterproofing system ensured an enduring seal against moisture intrusion. Recognizing areas with high foot traffic, an additional polyurethane top coat was applied to withstand wear and maintain the waterproofing’s integrity.
