PROTECT & WATERPROOF CONCRETE

DAMPEND

FIBRE REINFORCED
CEMENTITIOUS COATING

DampEnd is a two-part, polymer-modified, fibre reinforced
cementitious coating used for waterproofing, aqua-life fish
ponds and on surfaces where extreme adhesion is required.

DampEnd is used for waterproofing the internal skin of cavity walls, as a barrier coating in damp repair work or as an adhesion layer over torch-on, bitumen-based systems.

Completely eco-friendly and will not affect aqua life in any way.

DampEnd is also one of the key components in most of EcoSeal's recommended waterproofing systems.

DampEnd has extreme adhesion properties to most substrates.

Can be used to repair and do maintenance on torch-on waterproofing systems.

HOW IT WORKS

EXTREME ADHESION & PROTECTION

DampEnd is a two-part polymer modified cementitious waterproof slurry comprising of a liquid polymer part and cement-based fibre reinforced powder part. The two components of DampEnd are mixed together with a slow speed drill and paddle to form a smooth slurry. The slurry is applied by brush, in two coats, to form a hard but flexible waterproof cementitious coating. After curing the product is direct plaster, screed, tiling & paint ready.

KEY BENEFITS

DampEnd - Fibre reinforced cementitious waterproof coating

1/ EXCEPTIONAL ADHESIVE PROPERTIES

DampEnd has extreme adhesion properties to most substrates. It is mainly used for waterproofing the internal skin of cavity walls, as a barrier coating in damp repair work or as an adhesion layer over torch-on, bitumen-based systems or where exposed brickwork needs to be filled, replacing the need to do “bag wash” plaster.

2/ POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE WATERPROOFING

DampEnd can be used for water and damp proofing, basements & concrete structures. Can be applied to concrete and masonry water retaining structures to prevent water infiltration, both interior and exterior resisting positive and negative pressure.

3/ ALTTERNATIVE FOR TORCH-ON MAINTENANCE

DampEnd forms part of EcoSeal's waterproofing system and when used in combination with HydroSeal HF & Repello it forms a seamless maintenance waterproofing coating for Torch-On systems that will seal delaminated joints, overlaps, outlets and cracked torch-on systems It can also be used as an adhesion layer on bitumen-based systems.

4/ PAINTABLE & CAN BE TILED OVER

DampEnd is hard wearing and covers hairline cracks already present in substrates with a seamless coating. It can be painted and is directly compatible with ceramic, mosaic and natural stone coverings. It is also an excellent waterproofing system that can be used under artificial turf or decking on balconies & roof slabs.

CASE STUDIES

DAMPEND AT WORK

DampEnd can be used as an adhesion layer on cement, concrete, brickwork, torch-on and bitumen-based systems. It can also be used in a positive and/or negative waterproofing system. The dry mix components and fibre as well as the product were designed with no harmful chemicals (completely eco-friendly) and will not affect aqua life in any way.

DampEnd has excellent adhesion to bitumen-based systems making it ideal to be used for maintenance on torch-on waterproofing systems.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

STILL, HAVE SOME QUESTIONS?

Torch On waterproofing or also known as torch-down roofing has been a very popular method of sealing & waterproofing flat roofs and concrete roof slabs.

If correctly installed it could last for up to 15 years but it does require maintenance. If no maintenance was done on the torch on the system, it can start to crack, overlaps can delaminate and outlets separate from the substrate. To remove and redo the waterproofing is very expensive.

The HydroSeal & DampEnd waterproofing system offers a long-lasting solution at a competitive price.

  • To renew & maintain a torch on the system two coats of DampEnd is applied.
  • Joints, overlaps and outlets are reinforced with stitch-bonded polyester membrane.
  • The membrane is applied with Repello.
  • Once dry the complete surface is covered with three layers of HydroSeal HF to create a seamless waterproofing coating that is long-lasting and UV resistant.

This waterproofing solution will renew the torchon system and is easily maintained.

How do you maintain torch-on waterproofing

To waterproof cement dams and ponds products that are flexible & rubber-like that cures into a waterproof coating are normally used.  But for fish ponds and drinking water a non-toxic, non-leaching solution is essential.

The waterproofing system from EcoSeal that incorporates HydroSeal HF & DampEnd was designed to be hard-wearing, flexible & completely eco-friendly. The binders in the product were designed with no harmful chemicals and will not affect aqua life in any way.

To waterproof a cement dam or a fish pond the following steps must be followed.

  1. Clean the dam/pond thoroughly;
  2. Open up cracks, remove loose material and fix cracks with fibre cement & let dry;
  3. Re-enforced fixed sections, corners and outlets with stitch-bonded polyester membrane applied with Repello & let dry;
  4. Coat the entire surface with 3 coats of HydroSeal HF. Allow time for the product to dry between each coat;
  5. Once dry cover the entire dam/pond with two coats of DampEnd.

In warm weather conditions allow 48 hours for the system to completely dry out before adding water.

It is very important to correctly waterproof a balcony to prevent water damage and massive headaches down the line. Bituminous membranes were the most popular system used to waterproof under the substrate of terraces and balconies but this has all changed in the last couple of years.

The waterproofing system from EcoSeal that incorporates HydroSeal HF & DampEnd are being used with great success when it comes to waterproofing under tiles, terraces and balconies.

The waterproof system can be applied directly onto the screed of the slab and once dry you can tile directly on the system or cover it with synthetic grass.

To waterproof a balcony, the following steps must be followed:

  1. Ensure the levels of the screed on the balcony are correct and that water is running towards the outlets with no puddling.
  2. Prepare the surface for waterproofing by applying Penetrar bonding liquid that will penetrate the subsurface, bind it & promote adhesion for the waterproofing system.
  3. Re-enforced cracks, corners and outlets with stitch-bonded polyester membrane applied with Repello & let dry;
  4. Coat the entire surface with 3 coats of HydroSeal HF. Allow time for the product to dry between each coat;
  5. Once dry cover the entire balcony with two coats of DampEnd. This will provide extreme adhesion for direct tiling or artificial grass. The final coat of DampEnd is directly compatible with ceramic, mosaic and natural stone coverings.
  6. Tile balcony or cover with artificial grass.
How do you waterproof a balcony

The DampEnd cementitious waterproofing coatings is a two-part mixed system (Dry & Liquids) and is applied as a single or double coat application, mainly used for waterproofing the internal skin of cavity walls, as a barrier coating in damp repair work or as an adhesion layer over torch-on, bitumen-based systems or where exposed brickwork needs to be filled, replacing the need to do “bag wash” plaster.

It is used to provide positive and negative side waterproofing protection on concrete and masonry surfaces. DampEnd prevents damage from water infiltration and resist mould and mildew.

What is cementitious waterproofing?

To seal a torch down roof you have two options.

Option one is to redo the torch on system with new torchon or option two is to renew, seal and maintain the existing torch-on system with a hardwearing, long-lasting, UV stable, acrylic waterproofing system.

The HydroSeal & DampEnd waterproofing system can be used to renew and maintain existing torch-on systems.

To get started apply two coats of DampEnd. Re-enforced joints, overlaps and outlets with stitch-bonded polyester membrane. Apply the membrane with Repello. Once dry the complete surface is covered with three layers of HydroSeal HF to create a seamless waterproofing coating that is long-lasting and UV resistant. If required the covered area can also be painted with normal roof paint.
